Academic module. Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking are separately timed and separately banded; the overall band is the mean of the four, rounded to the nearest half.
Four recorded parts of ten questions each, played once. 30 minutes, then 2 minutes to check your answers.
Three long academic passages, 40 questions, 60 minutes. Transfer time is included — there is no extra.
Describe visual information in at least 150 words. Recommended 20 minutes. Carries one third of the Writing band.
Discursive essay of at least 250 words. Recommended 40 minutes. Carries two thirds of the Writing band.
Three parts: introduction, long turn from a cue card, and discussion. 11 to 14 minutes.
